What is the Manchester City Visitor Charge?

The £1 + VAT supplement 'City Visitor Charge' was introduced by the Manchester Accommodation Business Improvement District (ABID) to 'improve the visitor experience' to the city centre and 'support the growth of the visitor economy'. The 'City Visitor Charge' has been in place since April 2023. The tax is paid on arrival directly to the hotel, £1.00 + VAT, per room, per night.
